Entering its 10th year as one of the Piedmont Triad’s most popular summer events, Cinema Under the Stars returns this summer with another lineup of American film classics.

About the Series

Cinema Under the Stars is an annual film series co-presented by the School of Filmmaking at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. The movies will be screened on consecutive Friday evenings. Gates open at 7:30 p.m., films shown at 8:30 p.m. Beer and wine available for purchase. In case of rain, films are shown in the Babcock Auditorium.  Soft drinks, beer, and wine are available for purchase. Admission is $5, and proceeds support Reynolda House and the UNCSA’s Moving Image Archives collection.

Marketing & Audience

Cinema Under the Stars is widely advertised in the Triad, including in the Reynolda House Member Calendar mailed to more than 1,000 members and distributed at the Museum’s front desk; emails to Museum contact list of more than 2,500; through Museum and UNCSA social media; fliers distributed in key locations; ads in Winston-Salem Journal’s Relish and Greensboro News & Record’s Go Triad; underwriting on WFDD; and on-screen ads at a/perture cinema. Attendance at Cinema Under the Stars averages around 200 filmgoers, with a peak audience of more than 400.
