Reynolda Thursdays: "The Art of Seating"

Gather at the Museum for these casual evenings with music, refreshments, interesting programs, and admission to The Art of Seating: Two Hundred Years of American Design

November 6: Midcentury Modern. Programs begin at 5:30 p.m. on this night with a talk by High Point University professor Jane Nichols on Frank Lloyd Wright and his North Carolina-manufactured chairs. At 6 p.m., students from the UNCSA School of Dance will perform a new work incorporating chairs in the choreography. Following the dance, designers Barbara Charles, Bob Staples, and Peter Pearce, who worked with Charles and Ray Eames in the heyday of mid-century modernism, will discuss the designs that changed the way the world sits

November 6 Reynolda Thursdays is LGBTQ Night at Reynolda House, in partnership with the Adam Foundation and the LGBTQ Center at Wake Forest University.

The Art of Seating: Two Hundred Years of American Design is on view at the Museum August 23 - December 31, 2014.
