Reynolda House Museum of American Art Hires New Director of Events

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (January 28, 2010) Reynolda House Museum of American Art has hired Stephan Dragisic as the museum's director of event and program management. Dragisic comes to Reynolda House from Visit Winston-Salem, the marketing arm of the Tourism Development Authority, where he was director of marketing and communications. He previously worked in the hospitality industry in event planning, sales and marketing for more than 15 years.
"Stephan brings a unique combination of skills to Reynolda House," said Allison C. Perkins, executive director. "His understanding of the tourism industry along with a long history of event management and planning will be a true asset to our Museum, our members, and our visitors."
While with Visit Winston-Salem, Dragisic led the development and implementation of heritage and cultural tourism programs for the community. Originally from Midland, Texas, he is a graduate of High Point University.
Reynolda House Museum of American Art is one of the nation's premier American art museums, with masterpieces by Mary Cassatt, Frederic Church, Jacob Lawrence, Georgia O'Keeffe and Gilbert Stuart among its permanent collection. Affiliated with Wake Forest University, Reynolda House features traveling and original exhibitions, concerts, lectures, classes, film screenings and other events. The museum is located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina in the historic 1917 estate of Katharine Smith Reynolds and her husband, Richard Joshua Reynolds, founder of the R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company.
