Ways of Giving

Unrestricted Gifts
Unrestricted annual giving is vital to the financial strength of Reynolda House.  Annual gifts sustain the museum's mission, enhance its educational programs, and maintain the museum's outreach to the community.  We invite you to become a Member and support the Annual Fund.

Gifts in Honor or Memory
You may honor or remember someone special to you through a gift to Reynolda House.  Please send information about the family or person so they can be notified of your thoughtful gift.  All honor and memorial gifts are acknowledged in the Reynolda House Honor Roll of Donors.

Restricted Gifts
If you are interested in designating your gift for a special purpose, please call Marty Edwards, Director of Development, at (336) 758-5029.

Gifts of Stock
Electronic Transfer is the most efficient way to transfer securities to Reynolda House. Notify your broker that you wish to make a gift of securities to Reynolda House.  Brokers will need written authorization from you before they can make the transfer.  Be sure to tell them the name of the stock that you want to transfer, the number of shares, and where you would like your gift to be designated.

Once you have authorized the transfer, ask your broker to contact Kim Hampton, in our business office, at (336) 758-5126.  Ms. Hampton will give your broker complete transfer instructions to prevent problems with transfer.

We also ask that you contact Lindsey Pleban either by email or by telephone, at (336) 758-5889, to let her know that the gift is in process.  Shares are sometimes transferred into our account without information including the donor's name. The phone call will allow us to match up the donor's name with the correct stock gift.

Endowment Gifts
An endowment gift begins working immediately and retains its value forever.  When you give to an endowed fund, the principle of your gift is maintained in perpetuity, while a portion of the income it generates is used to support general operating costs and programming.  Your endowment gift can also be designated to support a special purpose.

Planned Giving
You can make a difference in the future of Reynolda House by naming the museum as the beneficiary of a planned gift.  Planned gifts are an excellent means of diversification, and reducing income and estate taxes.  Planned gifts include will provisions, charitable remainder trusts, gift annuities, and gifts of real estate and life insurance.

For more information, please contact Marty Edwards, Director of Development, at (336) 758-5029 or Lindsey Pleban, Assistant Director of Development, at (336) 758-5889.
