American Arts Discovery

American Arts Discovery is a multiple session course offered twice a year for adults interested in learning about American cultural history or becoming a docent-volunteer at the museum. Using an interdisciplinary approach, participants learn about American art history through the Museum's art collection by researching correlations in literature and music of the same time period. The course includes lectures, guest speakers, a visit to an artist's studio, and interactive explorations of art, music, and literature. Participants will find themselves intrigued, challenged, and supported as they experience four centuries of art in the company of other lifelong learners. This course is the prerequisite training for docent-volunteers.
Fall session: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
Spring sesssion: Tuesday evenings, 6-8:30 pm
